St. Louis RCGA Public Policy Infrastructure Initiatives

Infrastructure Issues

Transportation infrastructure is an essential element of the region's economic development strategy to attract and retain businesses. The St. Louis RCGA focuses its efforts and advocacy on the planning, funding, building and maintenance of first-class infrastructure to serve the needs and economic interests of the greater St. Louis metropolitan region in both Illinois and Missouri.

Our infrastructure interests include a broad range of surface transportation, aviation, and water issues. Surface transportation encompasses roads, bridges, transit, and passenger and freight rail. Water issues include ports, waterways management and waterway structures and levees - as well as storm water and wastewater systems facilities and management.

The St. Louis RCGA advocates for particular projects, and for adequate and equitable funding for the greater St. Louis region from federal and state sources.

Updates on infrastructure issues can be found in the reports below and on individual web sites with information on the New Mississippi River Bridge, Metro, Port of Metropolitan St. Louis, Illinois High Speed Rail, and Missouri High Speed Rail.
