ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association (RCGA) and RubinBrown LLP announced today that the 2009 Ameren Corporate Citizenship Award will be presented to Edward Jones and Edward Jones Managing Partner Jim Weddle, and the 2009 Spirit of St. Louis Technology Award will be presented to Savvis Inc., headed by CEO Phil Koen. Both awards will be presented along with the recognition of the Greater St. Louis Top 50 firms at the 2009 Greater St. Louis Top 50 Awards Gala on Wednesday evening, November 18th, at the Marriott St. Louis Union Station. Presented each year since 1996, the Top 50 Awards program and dinner salutes outstanding businesses, entrepreneurs and organizations in all industry sectors throughout the St. Louis region.

As they have for the past four years, the invitation for this year's Top 50 and the printed program cover have been designed by renowned artist Peter Max.

"Not only does Peter Max's work once again provide a colorful and energetic image for this year's Awards Gala, but this year's Top 50 also represents a rich cross section of entrepreneurs, mid-cap companies, long-established headquarter companies, and civic institutions that provide the backbone to St. Louis' economy and enhance the region's quality of life," noted RCGA President and Chief Executive Officer Richard C.D. Fleming.

"We are delighted to serve as title sponsor of the 2009 Greater St. Louis Top 50 Awards," noted RubinBrown LLP Chairman James Castellano. "This year's Top 50 winners were selected based on a variety of common denominators of high achievement. In addition to their overall civic commitment, many have demonstrated growth in the number of employees. Many boast strong revenue growth, while others have become stronger with noteworthy acquisitions or expansion and development of facilities."

"We will salute a widely diverse group of businesses and organizations at the Top Awards Gala on November 18th. However, all of these companies have in common a focused commitment to our region's quality of life and economic development."

This year's Ameren Corporate Citizenship Award goes to an 87-year-old St. Louis institution that is not only a world leader in the brokerage services industry, but also greatly contributes to the civic infrastructure of our community. Edward Jones, headed by Managing Partner Jim Weddle, plays a vital role in the region's civic efforts. Founded in St. Louis in 1922, Edward Jones today has some 4,500 St. Louis associates. In addition, the company has 350 branch offices in the St. Louis region. More than 30,000 associates work at some 12,000 branch locations in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

The 2009 Spirit of St. Louis Technology Award goes to Savvis Inc., headed by CEO Phil Koen. Founded in St. Louis in November 1995, Savvis today is a global leader in outsourced internet infrastructure services for enterprises. More than 4,000 customers, including 40% of the Top 100 companies in the Fortune 500, use Savvis to reduce capital expense, improve service levels and harness the latest advances in IT.

Growth in the number of employees; revenue growth; acquisitions and expansion of facilities; and their overall contributions to the St. Louis regional economy were among the criteria used to select the 50 St. Louis-based companies.

In addition to the overall title sponsors, RubinBrown and the RCGA, corporate and media sponsors of the Top 50 Awards program are: Ameren; Edward Jones; Southwest Bank; Thompson Coburn LLP; KMOX radio; the St. Louis Post-Dispatch; STLtoday.com; and St. Louis Commerce Magazine.
