St. Louis, Missouri, July 16, 2010 – Nestlé Purina PetCare today announced plans to construct a $15 million Learning and Training Center at its Checkerboard Square headquarters – the first new building on campus in nearly 25 years.

ST. LOUIS -- Ten years ago, few would have foreseen the importance that environmental issues would soon be playing in the future of metropolitan regions. Now, it is difficult to overstate the importance of these issues. In fact, at the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association’s (RCGA) Chicago Leadership Trip in 2008, Chicago-based national economic development site selection executive Robert Hess described the issue of “sustainability” and “the green economy” as “business imperatives” as regions compete for jobs.

ST. LOUIS – With Opening Day this Monday and with the Cardinals projected to again attract at least 3.2 million fans this season, the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association (RCGA) estimates that the economic impact of the 2010 Cardinal season on the St. Louis region will exceed $306.2 million, according to a just-completed economic impact analysis conducted by the RCGA's Chief Economist Ruth Sergenian.
