Vocational Technical Schools

More than 5,400 St. Louis-area residents are enrolled in degree and certificate programs in some 30 technical and vocational schools, pursuing career-oriented training and degrees in a wide range of technical fields, including electronics, IT, healthcare, cosmetology, aviation, administration, and more.

In addition to their regular classroom curriculum, some of these institutions provide customized training for businesses. Ranken Technical College’s Workforce Development Services program, for example, offers assessment of industrial organizations and their vendors, then customizes hands-on learning programs — on location or at the Ranken campus — in fields ranging from computer networking to industrial troubleshooting.

And institutions like Allied CollegeChamberlain College of NursingJewish Hospital College of Nursing and Allied Health, Missouri College, St. John’s Mercy Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology, and St. Louis College of Health Careers help keep St. Louis — and its work force — at the forefront of the health care industry.
